Zebra Bullhead Shark

My species/animal is a (fish) Zebra Bullhead Shark (Heterodontus zebra) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its distinctive zebra-like black and white striped pattern, stout body, and unique horn-like ridges above the eyes. Males typically have slightly broader heads and may display more prominent ridges, while females and juveniles tend to be slimmer with less pronounced head features. They reach about 36-48 inches (3 to 4 feet) in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 250 gallons.

Provide a soft sandbed, plenty of live rock and caves for hiding spots, and ample open swimming space. Stable water parameters should be maintained with salinity ~1.020-1.025, temperature around 72-79°F (22-26°C), and pH between 8.1-8.4. A secure lid is essential since these sharks are prone to jumping.

Diet should consist of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, small crustaceans, pellets formulated for carnivores, and occasional meaty frozen foods like squid or shrimp. With proper care, this fish makes a standout and fascinating addition to a suitably large marine aquarium.
