Yellow-Tail Tamarin Wrasse

Yellowtail Tamarin Wrasse (Anampses meleagrides) is a semi-rare and interesting species prized for its striking appearance: a dark body covered in white or light spots and a vivid yellow tail. It has a peaceful but shy temperament and is reef-safe with caution, especially regarding very small invertebrates. Grows up to about 8.5 inches. Best suited for aquariums of 75+ gallons with a deep, fine sandbed (3+ inches) for burying and sleeping, plenty of live rock for hiding and grazing, stable water parameters (SG ~1.020-1.025, temp ~75-82°F, pH ~8.1-8.4), and a tight-fitting lid since it’s a known jumper. Diet is carnivorous and picky: live copepods and amphipods, live or frozen mysis and brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, with gradual acceptance of frozen foods once acclimated.

On request, we also send photos/videos after arrival at IA. Some species are import-to-order (3-10 business days). Many common species are already cleared or near the end of QT. Sensitive species (Leopard Wrasses, Tamarin Wrasses, Deepwater species) have a small extra QT fee due to their special needs.

Several species will be import-to-order and may take anywhere from 3-10 business days to secure. Once your fish is secured, you will be notified, and the quarantine process will then begin.
