Yellow Striped Clingfish

Yellow Striped Clingfish (Diademichthys linatus) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe, admired for its distinctive bright yellow stripes running longitudinally across a slender body, small size, and its unique ability to cling to surfaces using a specialized suction disk. Males typically are slightly larger and may display more vibrant striping during breeding periods, while females and juveniles are generally smaller with less intense coloration. They reach about 2 to 3 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 15 gallons. Provide plenty of live rock with smooth surfaces, hiding spots, and areas to cling to, along with a sandbed to replicate their natural environment. Maintain stable water parameters with salinity around 1.020-1.025, temperature between 72-79°F, and pH in the range of 8.1-8.4. A secure lid is recommended since clingfish can sometimes explore outside the tank. Their diet should consist of small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and finely crushed pellets or flakes. With proper care, the Yellow Striped Clingfish makes a fascinating and unique addition to reef or marine aquariums.
