Yellow Flanked Fairy Wrasse

Yellow-Flanked Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus ryukyuensis) is a reef-safe, peaceful species admired for its vibrant coloration and elegant, active behavior. Males sport a multicolored body with a greenish-blue head and a large yellow triangular patch on the sides (sometimes the patch leans more pink depending on locality), while females and juveniles are more subdued in hue but still display beautiful tones and patterns. They reach about 4½ inches in adult size. Best kept in tanks of at least 90 gallons, with plenty of live rock for hiding and grazing, open swim spaces, fine sand substrate, stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020-1.025, temp ~72-78°F, pH ~8.1-8.4), and a tight lid since this species can jump. Diet should include vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, live copepods, and high-quality pellets once feeding reliably.
