Yellow Coris Wrasse

Yellow Coris Wrasse (Halichoeres chrysus) is a standout addition to any reef setup—reef-safe with caution, peaceful yet full of personality. It flaunts a brilliant yellow body that really pops under lighting; juveniles and females often show two small black “eyespots” on the dorsal fin (and sometimes one near the tail), while mature males simplify to a single bold spot and may develop delicate facial green/blue lines. Grows to about 5 inches. Best housed in tanks of at least 40 gallons, with fine sand for burrowing/resting, plenty of live rock for hiding and grazing, stable water conditions, and a secure lid since wrasses are excellent jumpers. Diet should be meaty and varied—frozen mysis, brine shrimp, copepods, and quality pellets—to bring out its true color and health.
