Yellow Belly Damselfish

Yellow Belly Damselfish (Amblyglyphidodon leucogaster) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe, admired for its striking yellow belly, silvery-white body, and active swimming behavior. Males typically defend territories more aggressively and may display brighter coloration during spawning, while females/juveniles are slightly smaller, less territorial, and display more subdued tones.

They reach about 4–5 inches and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons. Provide live rock with hiding spots and plenty of open swimming space, stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since many species are prone to jumping.

Diet should consist of a variety of meaty foods (mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods) as well as high-quality pellets and some algae-based foods, and with proper care this fish makes a standout addition to the aquarium.
