Yellow Angelfish

The Yellow Angelfish (Centropyge heraldi) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its brilliant solid yellow coloration, small size, and active, curious nature.

Males typically display slightly larger body size and may exhibit more dominance behaviors, while females/juveniles are smaller and share the same golden coloration without noticeable dimorphism.

They reach about 4 inches (10 cm) in adulthood and should be housed in aquariums of at least 70 gallons. Provide ample live rock with hiding spots, grazing surfaces, and open swimming areas, along with stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4). A secure lid is recommended since dwarf angels can be prone to jumping.

Their diet should consist of a varied mix of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, spirulina, high-quality marine pellets, and marine algae to ensure proper nutrition. With proper care, this vibrant fish makes a standout addition to aquariums, adding both color and activity.
