Wide Bar Mocha Gladiator Ocellaris Clownfish

The Wide Bar Mocha Gladiator Ocellaris Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris var.) is a peaceful to semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe, admired for its distinctive wide white bars, rich mocha-orange coloration, and bold contrasting patterns.

Males typically remain smaller, reaching about 2–3 inches, and may display more submissive behavior, while females and dominant individuals grow larger (up to 4–4.5 inches) and become more assertive. They reach about 4–4.5 inches as adults and should be housed in aquariums of at least 20–30 gallons (larger is preferred, especially if paired or kept with other tank mates).

Provide live rock for shelter, moderate open swimming space, and optional anemone hosts (though not required). Maintain stable water parameters: salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature 72–79°F, pH 8.1–8.4, and ensure a secure lid, as clownfish can occasionally jump.

Their diet should consist of a varied mix of mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, high-quality pellets, and some algae-based foods. With proper care, this fish makes a hardy, colorful, and charismatic addition to reef and community aquariums.
