White w/Blue-Tip Sebae Anemone

The White with Blue-Tip Sebae Anemone (Heteractis crispa) is an aggressive, reef-safe-with-caution species admired for its striking white tentacles tipped with blue or purple, leathery texture, and symbiotic relationships with clownfish.

Males and females are visually similar, though juveniles tend to have shorter tentacles and a smaller overall size. Adults can reach up to 12 inches (30 cm) in diameter and should be housed in aquariums of at least 55 gallons to provide ample space and stable water conditions.

They thrive on a sandy or rocky substrate with moderate to strong water flow, moderate to high lighting, and hiding spaces or crevices to anchor themselves. Water parameters should be stable, with salinity around 1.022–1.026, temperature between 75–82°F, and pH 8.0–8.4. A secure lid is recommended, as these anemones are prone to wandering. While they obtain nutrition from their symbiotic algae, they benefit from supplemental feedings of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, chopped fish, or clams.
