White Tube Anemone

The White Tube Anemone (Cerianthus sp.) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its long, flowing white tentacles, delicate tube structure, and mesmerizing swaying movements in the water column.

Males typically are slightly larger and may display more pronounced coloration at the base of their tentacles, while females/juveniles are slightly smaller with more uniform, translucent tentacles. They reach about 12–18 inches in length and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30–40 gallons.

Provide a deep sandbed for burrowing, some live rock for structure, and plenty of open space for tentacle extension, along with a secure lid, since many Cerianthus species are prone to jumping. Maintain stable water parameters: salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, and pH ~8.1–8.4.

Their diet should consist of small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and occasionally finely chopped seafood, and with proper care, this invertebrate makes a striking and peaceful centerpiece for the aquarium.
