Ultra Rock Flower Anemone

The Ultra Rock Flower Anemone (Epicystis crucifer) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its vibrant coloration ranging from purples to pinks, intricate radial patterns, medium size, and striking long flowing tentacles.

Males typically are slightly smaller with less intense coloration, while females/juveniles tend to be paler and develop more vivid colors as they mature. They reach about 6–10 inches in diameter and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons.

Provide a setup with a sandbed, plenty of live rock for attachment, crevices for hiding, and open swimming space. Maintain stable water parameters with salinity around 1.020–1.025, temperature 72–79°F, and pH 8.1–8.4, and ensure a secure lid, as many anemones are prone to movement or “jumping.”

Diet should consist of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and specialized marine pellets, supplemented occasionally with frozen or live seafood. With proper care, the Ultra Rock Flower Anemone becomes a striking, centerpiece addition to any marine aquarium.
