Unless marked, all livestock comes with our 15-Day Guarantee. You will receive a video of your fish eating before shipment. For size preference please add a note on your order and we will match your fish to your requested size. If you just want the fish without our QT process, Please email us directly with your order number. Please note this does waive the 15 day guarantee.

The Ultra Blue/Turquoise Maxima Clam (Tridacna maxima) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe, admired for its intensely vibrant blue or turquoise mantle, intricate iridescent patterns, and compact, beautifully fluted shell structure. It’s a showstopper in any reef tank due to its bold coloration and natural shimmer under high-intensity reef lighting.
Males typically display slightly more vivid mantle coloration and compact growth, while females/juveniles have softer, less defined patterns early on but develop brighter coloration as they mature. They reach about 6 to 8 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 50 gallons.
Provide a stable surface such as live rock, a clam cradle, or coarse sandbed for attachment, along with moderate to strong lighting (ideally LED or metal halide) to support their symbiotic zooxanthellae. Maintain stable water parameters:

While clams themselves don’t jump, a secure lid is recommended to prevent disturbance from other livestock or splashing.
Their diet primarily relies on photosynthesis, but juvenile clams under 2 inches may benefit from supplemental feeding with phytoplankton, marine snow, or live microalgae. With proper lighting, flow, and water quality, this clam makes a vivid and elegant centerpiece for reef aquariums.

On request, we also send photos/videos after arrival at IA. Some species are import-to-order (3-10 business days). Many common species are already cleared or near the end of QT.
Several species will be import-to-order and may take anywhere from 3-10 business days to secure. Once your fish is secured, you will be notified, and the quarantine process will then begin.
