The Tube Anemone (Isarachnanthus sp.) is a peaceful, reef-safe with caution invertebrate admired for its delicate, tubular body, waving tentacles, subtle coloration, and unique burrowing behavior.
Males are generally similar in appearance to females, though juveniles may be slightly smaller, and adults typically reach about 2–4 inches in length. They should be housed in aquariums of at least 20 gallons, providing a fine sandbed for burrowing, scattered live rock for stability, and open areas to allow natural movement. Stable water parameters are essential, with salinity around 1.020–1.025, temperature between 72–79°F, and pH of 8.1–8.4, along with a secure lid to prevent escape.
Tube Anemones thrive on a diet of small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and finely chopped marine pellets, fed a few times per week. With proper care, this subtle yet striking species adds graceful movement and visual interest to both reef and nano aquariums, making it a standout addition for enthusiasts seeking a low-maintenance, elegant invertebrate.
