True Skunk Rose Clownfish, Bali Aquarich

The True Skunk Rose Clownfish, Bali Aquarich (Amphiprion nigripes) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe, admired for its brilliant rose-to-reddish coloration, bold contrasting white headband, and hardy nature.

Males typically stay smaller, reaching about 2–3 inches and displaying slightly slimmer bodies, while females/juveniles grow larger (up to 4–4.5 inches), with females becoming more dominant and bulkier in appearance.

They reach about 4–4.5 inches and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons for a pair (larger tanks recommended for community setups). Provide ample live rock for hiding, open swimming space, and ideally a host anemone (such as Heteractis magnifica or Entacmaea quadricolor) to encourage natural behavior.

Maintain stable water parameters: salinity 1.020–1.025, temperature 72–79°F, pH 8.1–8.4, and ensure a secure lid since clownfish, while not notorious jumpers, can leap when startled.

Diet should consist of a varied mix of mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, copepods, high-quality marine pellets, and occasional algae-based foods.

With proper care, this fish makes a striking and resilient addition to reef aquariums, especially when paired with its natural symbiotic anemones.
