Torpedo Wrasse

Torpedo Wrasse (Pseudocoris yamashiroi) is a peaceful, moderately active wrasse prized for its flowing shape, striking coloration, and constant motion in reef systems. Females are pinkish-purple with a silvery stripe above and below the eye and a red spot at the pectoral fin base; males exhibit greenish-blue upper body with fine black spots and irregular vertical lines, white belly, and darker caudal fin rays. It grows to about 6 inches. Best kept in tanks of at least 100 gallons, with lots of live rock, hiding spots, open swimming space, fine sand substrate, stable reef water parameters (salinity ~1.020-1.025; temp ~72-78°F; pH ~8.1-8.4), and a tight lid (they’ll jump). Diet should be richly carnivorous — mysis, brine shrimp, small crustaceans, plus high-quality marine pellets offered multiple times daily.
