Tiger Goby

Tiger Goby (Elacatinus macrodon) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe, admired for its distinctive black and white striped “tiger” pattern, small size, and active cleaning behavior as a cleaner goby. Males typically display slightly brighter coloration and may be more territorial during breeding, while females/juveniles are generally smaller with softer color contrasts. They reach about 2 to 3 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 20 gallons.

Provide plenty of live rock with numerous crevices for hiding, a stable substrate like sand or fine gravel, and open swimming areas. Maintain stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020-1.025, temperature ~72-79°F, pH ~8.1-8.4), and use a secure lid to prevent jumping. Diet should consist of small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and high-quality pellets or flakes formulated for carnivores.

With proper care, the Tiger Goby makes an engaging and beneficial addition to the aquarium, particularly prized for its natural cleaning behaviors and striking appearance.

Several species will be import-to-order and may take anywhere from 3-10 business days to secure. Once your fish is secured, you will be notified, and the quarantine process will then begin.
