Tiger Combtooth Blenny

Fish Tiger Combtooth Blenny (Ecsenius tigris) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its striking tiger-like stripes, elongated body shape, expressive eyes, and algae-grazing behavior.

Males typically display slightly larger size and may show more intense coloration or territorial behavior, while females/juveniles are smaller, less colorful, and more passive in nature.

They reach about 4 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons. Provide ample live rock with hiding spots, crevices, and grazing surfaces, along with a sandbed for comfort and open swimming space. A secure lid is essential, as blennies are known to jump.Stable water parameters should be maintained: salinity 1.020–1.025, temperature 72–79°F, pH 8.1–8.4.

Diet should consist of algae (film and hair algae), spirulina, marine pellets, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and copepods.

With proper care, this fish makes a standout, hardy, and entertaining addition to a marine or reef aquarium.
