Three-Line Wrasse (Stethojulis trilineata) is a striking reef-associated species known for its elegant form and bold striping. Males display three pale lines along a vivid body plus a distinctive fourth stripe extending above the pectoral fin, while females and juveniles tend toward muted greenish or brownish tones with spots on their upper flanks. It grows to about 6 inches (15 cm) in length. This species prefers mature tanks of 75 gallons or more, with deep fine sand that allows it to bury during rest, plenty of rockwork with hiding spaces, stable reef water parameters (SG ~1.020–1.025; temp ~72–79°F; pH ~8.1–8.4), and of course a tight lid, as it is a jumper. Diet should be high in small crustaceans, mysis, brine shrimp, and zooplankton, offered frequently to mimic its natural foraging behavior.
