Tevegae Pygmy Goby

Tevegae Pygmy Goby (Trimma tevegae) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe, admired for its tiny size, vibrant orange and yellow coloration with subtle striping, and its delicate, darting swimming behavior. Males typically display brighter and more intense coloration during breeding displays, while females/juveniles are slightly paler with less pronounced markings. They reach about 1 to 1.5 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 10 gallons.

Provide ample live rock with plenty of crevices and hiding spots, along with open swimming areas suitable for their small size. Stable water parameters are important (salinity ~1.020-1.025, temperature ~72-79°F, pH ~8.1-8.4), and a secure lid is recommended as these tiny gobies can jump. Diet should consist of small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, copepods, finely crushed pellets, and occasionally frozen brine shrimp.

With proper care, the Tevegae Pygmy Goby makes a charming and colorful addition to nano reef tanks and is especially suited for aquarists who appreciate miniature marine species.
