Tasseled Wobbegong Shark

My species/animal is a (fish) Tasseled Wobbegong Shark (Eucrossorhinchus dasypogon) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its intricate tassel-like skin flaps around the head, unique camouflage patterns resembling seaweed, and medium-large size. Males typically have slightly slimmer bodies and may exhibit subtle differences in coloration during breeding periods, while females/juveniles tend to be bulkier with slightly lighter coloration. They reach about 60 inches (5 feet) in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 400 gallons.

Provide a sandy substrate with plenty of live rock and ample hiding spots to mimic their natural environment, along with open swimming space. Maintain stable water parameters with salinity around 1.020-1.025, temperature between 72-79°F, and pH of 8.1-8.4. A secure lid is essential since many sharks can be prone to jumping.

Diet should consist of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, chopped fish, shrimp, and squid, and with proper care, this fish makes a standout addition to the aquarium.
