Super Black True Percula Clownfish

The Super Black True Percula Clownfish] ([Amphiprion percula]) and is a peaceful species that is reef-safe, admired for its striking jet-black coloration, vivid white banding, compact size, and unique designer morph appeal.

Males typically remain smaller, show slightly less dominance, and often exhibit the characteristic submissive “clownfish wiggle” behavior.
Females/juveniles start small and orange-tinted as juveniles, gradually darkening to deep black as they mature, with females becoming the largest and most dominant in the group.

They reach about 3–4 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 20–30 gallons (larger if keeping pairs or hosting anemones).

Provide live rock for hiding spots, open swimming space, and optional anemone hosts such as Heteractis magnifica or Stichodactyla gigantea. Maintain stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and use a secure lid since clownfish can be prone to jumping.

Diet should consist of a varied mix of mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, high-quality marine pellets, and occasional algae-based foods. With proper care, this fish makes a standout centerpiece addition to a reef or community aquarium, prized for its intense coloration and hardy nature.
