Sixline Wrase

Six Line Wrasse (Pseudocheilinus hexataenia) is one of the most popular reef-safe wrasses thanks to its bold coloration, hardy nature, and natural pest-control abilities. It features a purple to blue body marked with six distinct horizontal orange stripes, a greenish tail, and red eyes that give it a striking, alert look. Active and full of personality, this wrasse is a constant swimmer that helps manage pests like flatworms and small invertebrates. It reaches about 3 inches in adult size. Best housed in tanks of at least 20 gallons, with lots of live rock and crevices for hiding, a fine sand substrate, and stable reef conditions (salinity ~1.020-1.025; temperature ~72-78°F; pH ~8.1-8.4). A secure lid is a must, as they are known jumpers. Diet should include small meaty foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, small crustaceans, and high-quality marine pellets or flakes to maintain health and coloration.

Several species will be import-to-order and may take anywhere from 3-10 business days to secure. Once your fish is secured, you will be notified, and the quarantine process will then begin.
