Singapore Angelfish

Fish Singapore Angelfish (Chaetodontoplus mesoleucus) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its striking black and white coloration with a golden-yellow face and tail.

Males typically exhibit slightly larger size and more intense coloration, while females/juveniles are smaller and may have more subdued hues. They reach about 7–8 inches in adulthood and should be housed in aquariums of at least 120 gallons.

Provide plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding spots, along with open swimming space. Stable water parameters are crucial (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid is recommended since this species can jump.

Diet should consist of a variety of foods, including mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, spirulina-based pellets, and marine algae. Occasional sponge-based preparations are also recommended to mimic their natural diet. With proper care, the Singapore Angelfish makes a vibrant and eye-catching addition to the marine aquarium, though it may nip at corals and invertebrates, so caution is advised in reef setups.
