Seaver Splitfin Anthias

Seaver Splitfin Anthias (Luzonichthys seaveri) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its delicate pink to lavender coloration, elongated fins, subtle patterns, and slender body shape. Males typically exhibit brighter coloration with elongated dorsal and anal fins, as well as a slightly larger size, while females and juveniles tend to be smaller with more muted colors and shorter fins. They reach about 4 to 5 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 70 gallons.

Provide ample live rock for hiding spots and territories, open swimming space, and a sandy substrate. Maintain stable water parameters with salinity around 1.020-1.025, temperature between 72-79°F, and pH from 8.1 to 8.4. A secure lid is recommended since many anthias species are known to jump.

Diet should consist of small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and quality marine pellets or flakes. With proper care, this fish makes a graceful and colorful addition to a reef or marine aquarium.
