Richmond's Wrasse

Richmond’s Wrasse (Halichoeres richmondi) is a reef-safe, show-stopping fish that brings elegance, color, and personality to your tank. Juveniles and females glow with light blue-green backgrounds streaked with vivid orange stripes, bright anal fins, and two false eye spots (ocelli) — one on the caudal peduncle, another in the dorsal fin. Males transition into radiant green bodies traced with chain-like blue lines, concave head profiles, and intense blue edging on dorsal, caudal, and anal fins when mature. Adult size is about 6 inches. Best housed in at least 70 gallons, with fine sand substrate for hiding/burying, plenty of live rock for shelter and forage, stable warm tropical marine water, and a tight lid (these are jumpers). Diet should be rich and varied: frozen and live carnivores fare such as mysis, brine shrimp, small crustaceans, plus high-quality pellets or flakes to accentuate color.

International Aquatics Quarantine & Guarantee: All fish are checked by marine vets, given a formalin bath, and held for 14 days in copper-treated systems. Several species will be import-to-order and may take anywhere from 3-10 business days to secure. Once your fish is secured, you will be notified, and the quarantine process will then begin.
