Richardson's Reef's Damselfish

Richardson's Reef's Damselfish (Pomachromis richardsoni). It is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe, admired for its vibrant blue coloration, streamlined body, and active schooling behavior. Males typically exhibit slightly brighter coloration and may display territorial behaviors, while females and juveniles are more subdued in color and less aggressive. They reach about 4 inches in adulthood and should be housed in aquariums of at least 55 gallons, ideally in groups to encourage natural shoaling behavior.

Provide ample live rock for shelter, open swimming space, and some hiding spots, along with stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since many species are prone to jumping.

Diet should consist of a varied mix of mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, high-quality marine pellets, and occasional algae-based foods, and with proper care this fish makes a standout addition to the aquarium.
