Redtail Flasher Wrasse

Redtail Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus rubricaudalis) is a reef-safe, peaceful flasher wrasse that lights up any aquarium with its red tail, wide red dorsal patch, and dynamic color changes—males blaze reds & oranges with darker horizontal stripes and turn bright yellow when displaying; females/juveniles are more muted but still beautifully patterned. It reaches about 3-4 inches full size. Best kept in tanks of at least 50-55 gallons, with plenty of live rock for hiding and grazing, open swimming space, fine sandy substrate, stable reef aquarium conditions (salinity ~1.020-1.025; temperature ~72-78°F; pH ~8.1-8.4), and a secure lid since this species tends to jump. Diet should be frequent and rich in meaty foods—frozen mysis, brine shrimp, zooplankton, plus high-quality marine pellets to maintain its vibrant coloration.
