Red Velvet Fairy Wrasse

Red Velvet Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus rubrisquamis) is a reef-safe species with a peaceful temperament, highly prized for its vibrant and dramatic coloration. Males display a rosy/red front body that transitions into yellow toward the tail, with scales near the head developing dark edges as they mature; females/juveniles are more subdued in red or pink tones with paler fins and less intense striping. It grows to about 4-5 inches adult size. Best kept in tanks of at least 90 gallons, with plenty of live rock for hiding and grazing, a fine sand substrate, stable water parameters, and a secure lid since this species is prone to jumping. Diet should include live copepods or plankton, frozen mysis and brine shrimp, and high-quality marine pellets once feeding reliably.
