Red Flower Strawberry Anemone

Red Flower Strawberry Anemone (Actinia tenebrosa) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its vibrant red coloration, unique flower-like oral disc, compact size, and striking tentacle patterns. Males typically are slightly larger and more robust, while females/juveniles are smaller and display slightly less intense coloration. They reach about 2–4 inches in diameter and should be housed in aquariums of at least 20 gallons.

Provide a sandbed, live rock for attachment, shaded crevices for hiding, and some open swimming space around, along with stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since many anemones are prone to movement or jumping. Diet should consist of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, small meaty foods, and planktonic copepods, and with proper care this anemone makes a standout addition to the aquarium.
