For size preference please add a note on your order and we will match your fish to your requested size. My species/animal is a fish, the Pyle's Dottyback (Pseudochromis pylei). It is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its striking coloration, typically featuring shades of lavender or pink with yellow or orange highlights, and its relatively peaceful temperament compared to other dottybacks. This species is named after marine biologist Dr. Richard Pyle and is prized for its unique beauty and rarity in the hobby.
Males typically grow slightly larger, may display more vivid coloration, and can exhibit more territorial behavior, while females/juveniles tend to have softer coloration and be slightly less aggressive. They reach about 3 inches in length and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons, especially if kept with other semi-aggressive species.
Provide ample live rock with hiding spots, some open swimming space, and stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4). A secure lid is essential, as dottybacks are known to jump, especially when startled.
Diet should consist of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, finely chopped seafood, and high-quality marine pellets or frozen foods. With proper care, this fish makes a colorful and uncommon addition to a marine aquarium, especially for collectors or dottyback enthusiasts.

Several species will be import-to-order and may take anywhere from 3-10 business days to secure. Once your fish is secured, you will be notified, and the quarantine process will then begin.
