Puddingwife Wrasse

Puddingwife Wrasse (Halichoeres radiatus) is a dynamic, reef-safe beauty that brings vibrancy, personality, and constant motion to any marine aquarium. Juveniles and females sport bright yellow to orange front halves and eye-catching blue or grey bars and spots toward the rear, while mature males develop richer tones—blue/green shading, radiant horizontal lines, and subtle “saddles” (white patches) along the back when fully matured. It can reach about 16-20 inches in length, though most in captivity stay closer to 12-14 inches. Best kept in tanks of 120+ gallons, with a deep, fine sandbed (for burying at night), lots of live rock providing caves and crevices for hiding, open swimming areas, stable water conditions, and a tight lid (these fish are fast movers and risk jumping). Diet should be strictly carnivorous: hard-shelled prey like crustaceans, mollusks, brittle stars; plus frozen mysis and brine shrimp, and high-quality marine pellets once feeding reliably.

Several species will be import-to-order and may take anywhere from 3-10 business days to secure. Once your fish is secured, you will be notified, and the quarantine process will then begin.
