Princess Green Parrotfish

The Princess Green Parrotfish is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its brilliant green coloration, striking patterns, and unique beak-like mouth adapted for grazing algae.

Males typically display more intense and vibrant coloration with bold patterning, while females and juveniles are often duller in tone, with softer green hues and less defined markings.

They reach about 10–14 inches in adulthood and should be housed in aquariums of at least 180 gallons or larger to provide enough space for swimming and foraging.

Provide a sandy substrate with plenty of live rock for grazing, along with open swimming areas. Ensure stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since many parrotfish are prone to jumping.

Diet should consist of algae (macroalgae and film algae), supplemented with mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and high-quality herbivore pellets. With proper care, this fish makes a standout addition to large marine aquariums, admired for both its color and active grazing behavior.
