Princess Anthias

The Princess Anthias (Pyronotanthias smithvanizi) is a peaceful, reef-safe-with-caution species admired for its vibrant pink and orange coloration, golden highlights, delicate fin patterns, and small, graceful size that makes it a jewel-like addition to reef aquariums. Males are slightly larger and display more intense colors with elongated fins, while females and juveniles are smaller with softer hues and less pronounced fins. They reach about 3–3.5 inches in length and should be housed in aquariums of at least 70 gallons, providing a fine sandbed, plenty of live rock for hiding spots, caves, and open swimming space. Stable water parameters (salinity 1.020–1.025, temperature 72–79°F, pH 8.1–8.4) and a secure lid are essential, as these fish are prone to jumping. Their diet should consist of enriched frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and high-quality pellets, with multiple small feedings throughout the day. With proper care, the Princess Anthias thrives in groups and becomes a vibrant, standout addition to any reef aquarium.

International Aquatics Quarantine & Guarantee: All fish are checked by marine vets, given a formalin bath, and held for 14 days in copper-treated systems.
