The Potter's Angelfish (Centropyge potteri) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its striking orange body adorned with deep blue vertical striping, subtle iridescent highlights, and unique Hawaiian origin.

Males typically display slightly darker blue coloration and may grow a bit larger, while females and juveniles show more orange with a smaller overall size. All Potter's Angelfish begin life as female with the largest and most aggressive female in a group becoming male.

They reach about 4 inches in adulthood and should be housed in aquariums of at least 70 gallons. Provide plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding spots, along with open swimming space, stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since this species can be prone to jumping.

Diet should consist of a mix of mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, spirulina, marine algae, and high-quality pellets or frozen angelfish preparations. With proper care, the Potter’s Angelfish makes a vibrant and standout addition to a well-maintained marine aquarium.
