Pink Dwarf Feather Duster

The Pink Dwarf Feather Duster (Sabella sp.) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe, admired for its delicate, fan-like pink feeding crown, compact size, and charming ornamental presence in reef aquariums. This species is not sexually dimorphic in an obvious way, so males and females are generally similar in appearance, while juveniles display the same pink crown in a smaller form. They reach about 1.5–2.5 inches in length (tube plus crown) and should be housed in aquariums of at least 10–15 gallons.

Provide a stable substrate or live rock for tube attachment, gentle water flow, and areas protected from strong currents. Maintain stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4). Being sessile, a secure lid is not required, but care should be taken to avoid water turbulence that can damage their delicate tentacles.

Diet should consist of planktonic foods such as phytoplankton, rotifers, and finely powdered or liquid marine foods. With proper care, this species makes a charming and colorful addition to reef aquariums, enhancing both visual appeal and natural filtration.
