Unless marked, all livestock comes with our 15-Day Guarantee. You will receive a video of your fish eating before shipment. For size preference please add a note on your order and we will match your fish to your requested size. If you just want the fish without our QT process, Please email us directly with your order number. Please note this does waive the 15 day guarantee.

The Invertebrate Pillow Sea Star (Culcita sp.) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its unique cushion-like shape, vibrant mottled coloration, and intriguing patterns. This species is often a focal point in display tanks due to its rounded, pillow-like body and slow, graceful movement across the substrate.
Males typically are similar in size and appearance to females, with subtle differences only detectable during spawning, while females and juveniles may appear slightly smaller and less vividly colored until maturity.
They reach about 8–12 inches in diameter and should be housed in aquariums of at least 100 gallons to allow ample space for movement and foraging. Provide a sandy substrate and plenty of live rock to mimic their natural habitat and offer surfaces for grazing. Stable water parameters are essential — salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, and pH ~8.1–8.4. A secure lid is recommended, although sea stars are not prone to jumping.
Diet should consist of detritus, algae films, small bits of meaty foods (like mysis or brine shrimp), and occasional prepared foods. Supplemental feeding is often necessary in aquariums without abundant natural food sources. With proper care, this striking sea star makes a standout and conversation-starting addition to a marine aquarium.

On request, we also send photos/videos after arrival at IA. Some species are import-to-order (3-10 business days). Many common species are already cleared or near the end of QT.
Several species will be import-to-order and may take anywhere from 3-10 business days to secure. Once your fish is secured, you will be notified, and the quarantine process will then begin.
