Pikachu/Allen’s Wrasse (Labropsis alleni) is a rare and stunning centerpiece wrasse that combines vibrant color, reef value, and personality. Peaceful toward most tankmates but with delicate feeding needs, it shows off a blue-green body with orange lateral stripes, a frosty white tail, and some light purple or yellow tones in males; females are softer in hue but just as striking. It reaches about 4 inches in adult size. Best housed in tanks of 50-75 gallons or more, with abundant live rock for hiding and grazing, moderate flow, deep fine sand substrate, very stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020-1.025; temperature ~72-79°F; pH ~8.1-8.4), and a secure lid since wrasses are adept jumpers. Diet should include live or frozen small crustaceans, high-quality marine frozen foods, mysis/brine shrimp, plus supplemental prepared foods once feeding reliably.
