Picasso Percula Clownfish

Picasso Percula Clownfish ([Amphiprion percula]). It is a peaceful to semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe, admired for its vibrant orange coloration, bold black outlines, and unique irregular white “Picasso-style” patterns.

Males typically remain smaller, reaching around 2–3 inches, and may display submissive behavior toward dominant females, while females/juveniles grow larger (up to 4 inches) and often become the dominant individual within a pair or group.

They reach about 3–4 inches as adults and should be housed in aquariums of at least 20–30 gallons (larger if kept with multiple fish or anemones). Provide live rock with hiding spots, open swimming space, and ideally a sandbed with access to a host anemone (though not required), along with stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since many species are prone to jumping.

Diet should consist of a variety of frozen mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, finely chopped seafood, high-quality marine pellets, and occasional algae-based foods, and with proper care this fish makes a standout addition to the aquarium.
