(Rabaulichthys cf. suzuki) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe, admired for its delicate beauty, rare appearance in the trade, flowing sail-like dorsal fin, and compact size. Males typically exhibit vivid pink to orange coloration with a strikingly elongated dorsal fin and yellow or lavender accents, while females/juveniles are smaller and display softer hues—often pale orange or peach—with shorter fins and less intense coloration. They reach about 2 to 2.5 inches in length and should be housed in aquariums of at least 40 gallons, though larger tanks are recommended if keeping a group or harem.

Provide ample live rock for hiding spots, gentle flow, low to moderate lighting, and open swimming space, stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since these fish are known jumpers. Diet should consist of small, frequent feedings of mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, and finely chopped marine foods, with occasional high-quality pellets or flakes. With proper care, this rare and graceful anthias makes a standout and prized addition to a peaceful reef aquarium.
