Pectoralis/Blackspot Cleaner Wrasse

Blackspot Cleaner Wrasse (Labroides pectoralis) is a rare and captivating cleaner wrasse prized by true reef enthusiasts. It’s peaceful in temperament, reef-safe, and best known for its signature marking — a bold black spot just under the pectoral-fin base — plus a bright yellow head that draws attention wherever it glides. It reaches about 4-inches adult size. Best kept in tanks of at least 75 gallons, with ample live rock for hiding and structure, plenty of client fish for cleaning interactions, stable water parameters, and a tight-fitting lid since cleaner wrasses are natural jumpers. Diet must be specialized: it feeds on ectoparasites, dead tissue and mucus from other fish (you want a stocked tank to support that), plus supplemental high-quality meaty frozen foods (mysis, brine shrimp, etc.) to make up for what they can’t clean in captivity.
