Peacock Flounder

Peacock Flounder (Bothus mancus) – The Peacock Flounder is a fascinating bottom-dwelling species famous for its incredible camouflage abilities and striking blue-ringed patterning across its sandy-colored body. With both eyes on one side of its head, it glides gracefully along the seafloor, blending perfectly into its surroundings while ambushing prey with lightning speed. Growing up to 18 inches in the wild (smaller in aquariums), this species requires a soft sandy substrate, open bottom space, and a peaceful environment to thrive.
