Peacock/Argus Wrasse

Peacock/Argus Wrasse (Halichoeres argus) is a reef-safe to reef-safe-with-caution wrasse with a peaceful temperament that shines with “peacock-level” pattern and personality. Males feature mottled green bodies accentuated by irregular orange facial lines, small blue-green spots, and vibrant facial markings; females and juveniles are more subtle, mostly green with muted tones and occasional ocelli (spots) on dorsal or tail areas. Adult size reaches about 5 inches. Best housed in tanks of at least 50 gallons, with a fine sand substrate for burying/resting, plenty of live rock and crevices for hiding and grazing, and open swimming space. Water parameters should be stable: salinity ~1.020-1.025, temperature ~72-78°F, pH ~8.1-8.4. Diet should be omnivorous-leaning: small crustaceans, worms, frozen mysis and brine shrimp, plus quality pellets once feeding reliably. With its striking coloration, active behavior, and manageable size, this is a wrasse that delivers serious visual bang without needing the largest system.

Several species will be import-to-order and may take anywhere from 3-10 business days to secure. Once your fish is secured, you will be notified, and the quarantine process will then begin.
