Peach Tip Mesh Sea Star

Peach Tip Mesh Sea Star (Nardoa novaecaledoniae) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its soft peach-colored arm tips, intricate mesh-like body pattern, and striking star-shaped symmetry. Males typically show slenderer arms and more active foraging behavior, while females/juveniles are slightly stockier with duller patterning until maturity.

They reach about 8–10 inches across (arm span) and should be housed in aquariums of at least 100 gallons. Provide ample live rock and sandy substrate for grazing, along with stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4).

Diet should consist of film algae, detritus, sponges, and supplemental offerings like finely chopped seafood, mysis shrimp, and specialized starfish foods. With proper care, this sea star makes a unique and eye-catching addition to the aquarium, though it requires a mature, well-established reef to thrive.
