Orangebar Anthias

The Orangebar Anthias (Pseudanthias engelhardi / Pseudanthias carlsoni) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its striking orange vertical bar across the body, vibrant pink to reddish coloration, elegant fins, and schooling behavior. Males typically show more intense coloration with a prominent orange bar and elongated dorsal fins, while females/juveniles display softer pink hues with a less distinct or absent orange bar and shorter fins. They reach about 3 to 4 inches in length and should be housed in aquariums of at least 70 gallons, ideally in groups with one male and multiple females.

Provide ample live rock for hiding spots, open swimming space, and moderate water flow, with stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid to prevent jumping. Diet should consist of a varied mix of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and high-quality pellets or flakes. With proper care, this anthias makes a vibrant and graceful addition to reef aquariums.

Several species will be import-to-order and may take anywhere from 3-10 business days to secure. Once your fish is secured, you will be notified, and the quarantine process will then begin.
