Orange Tube Anemone (Cerianthus sp.). It is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its brilliant orange coloration, long flowing tentacles, and unique tube-dwelling behavior.

Males typically cannot be distinguished from females visually (no clear sexual dimorphism is present in Cerianthus species), while females/juveniles appear identical and are usually only differentiated through breeding studies.

They reach about 8–12 inches across when fully extended and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons (larger preferred due to long tentacles and stinging reach).

Provide a deep sandbed (4+ inches) or fine substrate for burrowing their protective tube, moderate open space, and minimal rock contact (they do not attach to rock like true anemones). Maintain stable water parameters: salinity 1.020–1.025, temp 72–79°F, pH 8.1–8.4, and ensure low–moderate flow with a secure lid since their tentacles can extend widely and sting nearby tank mates.

Diet should consist of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and other planktonic items (target feeding recommended, as they are non-photosynthetic and rely on regular feedings).

With proper care, this anemone makes a stunning centerpiece for the aquarium, best kept in a species-only or carefully planned reef system.
