Ocellaris Clownfish

The Ocellaris Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe, admired for its vibrant orange coloration with white bands, compact size, and hardy nature.

Males typically are smaller and less dominant, often assisting the female in territory defense and caring for eggs, while females/juveniles are slightly larger, dominant, and more colorful, often taking the lead in social hierarchy.

They reach about 3–4 inches in length and should be housed in aquariums of at least 20 gallons. Provide a sandbed, live rock, ample hiding spots, and open swimming space, along with stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since clownfish are prone to jumping.

Their diet should consist of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, high-quality pellets, and occasional algae, and with proper care, this fish makes a vibrant and hardy addition to any marine aquarium.
