Multicolor Linckia Sea Star

Multicolor Linckia Sea Star (Linckia sp.). It is a peaceful species that is reef-safe and admired for its vibrant multicolor patterns (red, orange, purple), star-shaped body, and unique regenerative abilities.

Males typically cannot be easily distinguished from females externally, while females/juveniles are similar in appearance but smaller in size. They reach about 6–8 inches (15–20 cm) in diameter and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons.

Provide a sandbed, live rock, hiding spots, and open swimming space, along with stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid, as many species are prone to climbing or falling out of tanks.

Diet should consist of microalgae, detritus, biofilm, and supplemental mysis or phytoplankton feeds. With proper care, this sea star makes a standout addition to the aquarium, adding both color and movement.
