Moorish Idol (Zanclus cornutus) – The Moorish Idol is one of the most iconic and recognizable fish in the ocean, instantly identified by its bold black, white, and yellow bands and its long trailing dorsal fin. Revered for its beauty and elegance, this species has long been considered a symbol of good luck and prosperity. Growing up to 9 inches, Moorish Idols require spacious aquariums with ample swimming room, mature rockwork, and pristine water conditions. While known for being a challenging species due to specialized dietary needs, they are unmatched in beauty and are truly the crown jewel of any marine display when cared for properly.
