Lunate Goldie Anthias

Lunate Goldie Anthias (Pseudanthias lunulatus) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its striking pink to orange coloration, crescent-shaped markings on the dorsal fin, graceful swimming behavior, and moderate size. Males typically display more vivid and intense coloration with elongated dorsal and anal fins used for display during courtship and territorial interactions, while females/juveniles are smaller, less brightly colored, often showing softer shades of pink and orange. They reach about 5 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 75 gallons. Provide a well-structured tank with plenty of live rock for hiding spots, open swimming space, and a sandy substrate, stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020-1.025, temp ~72-79°F, pH ~8.1-8.4), and a secure lid since many anthias species are prone to jumping. Diet should consist of a varied menu including mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and high-quality pellets or flakes. With proper care, this fish makes a standout addition to the aquarium due to its vibrant colors and dynamic behavior.
