Longfin Midnight Lightning Ocellaris Clownfish

The Longfin Midnight Lightning Ocellaris Clownfish] ([Amphiprion ocellaris]) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its striking black and white “lightning bolt” pattern, elongated fins, and bold contrast coloration. Males typically display slightly less intense coloration and shorter fins compared to females, and are more active in defending territory, while females/juveniles exhibit fuller, brighter markings and longer fins, with a dominant presence in the tank.

They reach about 3–4 inches as adults and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons. Provide a sandbed, plenty of live rock, hiding spots, and open swimming space, stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since many species are prone to jumping.

Diet should consist of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, high-quality pellets, and algae-based foods, and with proper care this fish makes a standout addition to the aquarium.
